The National Trust for Historic Preservation is the nation's foremost organization concerned with preserving cultural and historic resources within the United States. The National Trust publishes Preservation a magazine dedicated to historic preservation issues.
Historic Hudson Valley is an organization devoted to preserving the culture, landscape, and history of the Hudson River Valley, and to present this heritage through educational outreach, daily programming and special events at: Washington Irving's estate "Sunnyside" in Tarrytown; "Kykuit," the Rockefeller estate in Sleepy Hollow; "Philipsburg Manor" in Sleepy Hollow; The Union Church of Pocantico Hills; "Van Cortlandt Manor" in Croton-on-Hudson; and "Montgomery Place" Historic Estate in Annandale, NY.
The Historic House Trust of New York City is a not-for-profit organization that works in partnership with New York City Parks & Recreation to preserve and promote historic houses located in various city parks, such as the Bartow-Pell Mansion in Pelham Bay Park. The organization's website contains information on this and 16 other historic house museums, including four in the Bronx: the Edgar Allen Poe House, the Van Cortlandt House, the Valentine-Varian House and Pelham's own Bartow-Pell Mansion.
