Among the most important architectural elements in any historic home are original windows. Learn how windows can be preserved and restored and never replaced. The U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service publishes Preservation Briefs that provide excellent guidance on preserving and restoring historic buildings, including on the Repair of Original Windows, Appropriate Exterior Extensions to Historic Buildings, Repairing Interior Plaster and Preserving Historic Ceramic Tile Floors.The Old House Journal hosts several bulletin boards where readers have posted restoration ideas and information.
