Pelham Picture House: Restoration of the Oculus Window
The oculus window on the front facade of the Pelham Picture House was a key final element of the Picture House Restoration project that required attention. Unfortunately, the original window had been tarred and painted and the wood frame so rotted, that it was beyond the ability to restore it. When the decision was made that it needed replacement, the Pelham Preservation Society provided the funds and assistance in ensuring that this architectural element was properly replicated. The window mullions were sized exactly to the original and period (1920s) glass was used from salvaged windows donated to the organization.
