Pelham Manor Proposed Zoning Changes

When the Village of Pelham Mayor in early 2014 undertook to consider zoning changes to the existing retail zone at "Four Corners" to allow for multi-family apartments, raising the height limit from 2.5 stories to 6 stories on both sides of the Boston Post Road at the intersection with Pelhamdale Avenue, the Pelham Preservation Society raised community awareness of the proposal.  Our board members attended and spoke at village hearings, reviewed the draft generic environmental impract statement and submitted comments on the architectural, cultural and historic significance of the buildings and homes that would be negatively impacted by the proposed zoning change.  In October, 2014, the Pelham Manor Village Board voted not to adopt the DGEIS and concluding the matter.
