Pelham Preservation & Garden SocietyHistoric Plaque Program
Acknowledge your home’s special place in Pelham’s history by nominating it for an historic plaque. The Pelham Preservation & Garden Society sponsors the Pelham Historic Plaque Program, which places plaques on Pelham residences that qualify for listing on the NYS Register of Historic Places. Eligibility criteria are:
Houses must be at least 50 years old
Houses must be within Pelham Town limits
Houses must be preserved or restored in an historically-sensitive manner or be of particular historic significance
Pelham Preservation encourages many applications from a wide range of housing types. Examples of local home styles that may qualify range from Gothic Revival of the mid-1800’s to Shingle Style from the turn of the 20th century up to examples of the International Style seen later in the 20th century. Selected homes receive a brass plaque listing historical information about the residence. Send completed applications to: Pelham Preservation and Garden Society, P.O. Box 8129, Pelham, New York, 10803 or contact us at info@pelhampreservationsociety.com
