Advocating for Pelham's Preservation

The Pelham Preservation Society was founded by a group of Pelhamites in 1999 who cared passionately about preserving and enhancing the character of Pelham.  We have remained faithful to our original mission in raising community awareness and being advocates for the preservation of the architecture and landscape that define Pelham.  On three different occasions, we have led the community in understanding zoning proposals that would have altered the character of the town.  By the efforts of our organization, a proposal for a 130-foot cell tower at the gateway to Pelham was halted, Ingall's Field at PMHS was kept from being made into a parking lot and the house at 403 Pelhamdale was saved from a planned demolition and replacement with three new homes.  We sponsor an historic plaque program that recognizes homes of outstanding architectural and/or historic value.
